Verition's principals rely on their decades of management experience

Mr. Maounis serves as Chief Executive Officer at Verition, overseeing the investment activities of the firm, including the allocation of capital across strategies. He has also been the President and Chief Investment Officer of Amaranth Advisors LLC and related advisory entities (“Amaranth”) since September 2000. From 1990 until August 2000 Mr. Maounis was a Portfolio Manager for Paloma Partners Management Company and affiliated entities (“PPMC”). In this role Mr. Maounis was personally responsible for trading a large convertible-arbitrage portfolio and for managing up to 25 traders and assistants employing a variety of investment strategies. Previously, Mr. Maounis managed U.S. convertible-arbitrage portfolios for Angelo Gordon & Co. (1989-1990) and LF Rothschild, Unterberg, Towbin (1985-1989), where he was a Senior Vice President in charge of all convertible-arbitrage trading. Mr. Maounis graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.

Mr. Goldstein serves as President and Chief Operating Officer at Verition. He is responsible for the day-to-day management of Verition’s business. In particular, Mr. Goldstein oversees the firm's strategic development, talent acquisition, marketing, and legal functions, and works with Mr. Maounis on the firm’s investment activities and capital allocation decisions. Prior to joining Verition, Mr. Goldstein was Chief Operating Officer of NM Holdings, LLC where he oversaw Mr. Maounis’s family office investments. Previously, he held positions at Lehman Brothers, the Yankees Entertainment & Sports Network, LLC (YES Network) and First Manhattan Consulting Group. Prior to that, he practiced corporate and securities law at Blank Rome LLP and served as an Assistant District Attorney in New York. Mr. Goldstein holds a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, where he was a Senior Editor of the Law Review, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Pennsylvania State University.

Mr. Hagan serves as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer at Verition. Prior to joining Verition, Mr. Hagan served as Global Head of Operations at D.B. Zwirn from June 2007 to May 2008, where he was recruited to overhaul the firm’s operational infrastructure and implement best practice policies and procedures following the disclosure of D.B. Zwirn’s operational and accounting issues in December 2006. Previously, Mr. Hagan was the senior executive in charge of JP Morgan’s Hedge Fund Administration business for the Western Hemisphere and responsible for all middle and back office operations, accounting, transfer agency, and shareholder services as well as the Fund of Hedge Fund custody product. Prior to joining JP Morgan, Mr. Hagan worked at Paloma Partners Management Company from 1989 to 2006 where he was a managing director and served in senior roles in the operations and accounting departments. Mr. Hagan previously served in senior accounting positions at Equitable Capital Management and New York Life Insurance Company. Mr. Hagan began his career as an accountant with International Minerals and Chemicals after graduating from Pfeiffer University in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and economics.
